Each month of the school year children will be studying a basic principle or element of art as well as learning about the life and works of a famous artist. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 2008 / 2009 year has got off to a great start. Here are some of the many projects we have completed so far this year. In May we wrapped up all of the elements in art that we've studied this year including balance, shape, value, rhythm, color, space, form, movement, line, pattern and texture. We also explored the world of "Pop Art" as we learned about the life and works of our featured artist. The featured artist in May was: Andy Warhol

Here are some designs done in art class in the month of April that show many of the elements we have been working on such as balance, shape, value, rhythm, color, space, form, movement, line, and pattern.

A Little About Me I have enjoyed art for many years as a doll artist for the Danbury Mint as well as painting custom tiles for kitchens and baths professionally . I have always involved art as part of what I do. I have been married for 20 years to my husband who is currently a Dallas Police Sergeant. I have a son who is a Junior at Wylie High and a daughter who is a Freshman at Wylie East. This is my third year in Wylie and my second year at Dodd . I am proud and excited to be a part of the Dodd team. Please
feel free to contact me anytime during my conference period from
7:30am to 8:15am each morning or anytime after school. I look forward
to challenging your students to express their creativity through the
wonderful world of art !
