Mrs. Hogg’s
Grading Policy
 |
Homework
is due on the "Due Date". The first time a
homework assignment is
not turned in on time, the student will receive a late
work warning. They may bring the assignment in the
second day for a starting grade of 90, the third day for
a starting grade of 80. The third day for a
starting grade of 70. After the third day, the
assignment, if turned in, at best will receive a 50.
|
 |
Homework and classwork follows the DRIS "No Work, No
Play" policy. 1st time an assignment is not turned
in on time the parent is contacted and the student will
sit out at recess and complete work. 2nd time
late, again the parent will be contacted and the student
sits out to complete work. 3rd time late, will be
the same as 1 and 2. 4th time late, the parent is
contacted and the student will be required to serve a
30-minute "detention" to complete any and all missing
assignments. Please see the "classroom
management" page for more detailed
information. |
 |
Failed Assignment/Tests - If a student receives a
failing grade below a 70, they will be given an
opportunity to correct the assignment. This is
in addition to any homework assignments. If a
student who has failed an assignment, chooses not to
make corrections, the grade will remain. A
student may use books, notes, parents, whatever it
takes to make the needed corrections.
Depending on the accuracy of the
corrections, a student will receive a 70.
Corrections will be due one week after graded papers
are returned to the students. Please do not
ask for extensions.

 |
I will
deduct 10 points from an
assignment or test if a student fails to write their
name and/or number on their paper. If there are more than one
student with the same name, those students will be
required to write first and last names on their papers.
If they fail to write both, they will loose 10 points.
|
 |
I will
deduct 10 points from
assignments, tests, lab sheets for any work that is
completed in anything other than pencil unless I have
specified they can use something else.

Making Corrections...
In order to
make corrections I do request that students complete all
corrections on a separate sheet of paper and DO NOT change
their original answers on the original test or assignment.
I also request that problems and/or questions are numbered
correctly matching the incorrect problems or questions.
The original test or assignment and the corrections need to
be turned in together (stapled - we have a stapler in our
class). I also request that parents sign the failed
assignment so that I know that the parent is aware of the
failing grade. All corrections must be turned in one
week after graded papers have been returned. If it is
not turned in on time, 10 points will be deducted.
