We want every student to have every advantage both at home and at school so that they can do their best on the test.

At home, we suggest that your family do the following:

     Night Before:

  • Get a FULL night’s sleep!  This will help to make sure your child is rested and alert during the test.

  • Pack supplies in the backpack.  Your student will need several pencils and erasers, and can also use a highlighter.

  • Pack a water bottle in your student’s backpack.  He or she can keep this during the test.

  • Pack a healthy snack.  If desired, you may pack a small bag for snacking during the test.  No sugar or chocolate is allowed.  A few appropriate snacks... pretzels, cracker of any kind, peanuts, animal crackers, dried cereal.

     Morning of the Test:

  • Eat a protein-rich breakfast.  On the morning of a testing day, it would be a good idea to serve anything that contains lots of protein, such as peanut butter, eggs, bacon (or other meats), cheese, etc.

  • Make sure your student arrives on time to school.  That way they are prepared and not rushed.

  • Encourage your student!!  The students know how important this test is.  Remind your student that he/she CAN do well on this test if he/she takes breaks when needed, slows down during the test, and rechecks answers.  If students THINK they can do well, they will perform much better on the test!

Thank you for your support!  Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
