Texas Bluebonnet Reading Club

Texas Bluebonnet Award Logo

This is a reading program for 3rd and 4th grader, it is designed to encourage students to read more and choose a variety of books. Each student needs to read or have read to them 5 current (2008-2009) Bluebonnet books. They must pass each test with a 70 or higher by themselves.  These need to be read by December 19th. In January we will all meet to discuss which books we like to most and vote on a Bluebonnet Book of the year.

Our check-out guidelines:
  • Kindergarten - Because they are just learning how to take care of books and how to become responsible library user, will only check out only one book per week.

  • 1st grade - may check out one book until they begin AR.

  • 2nd - 4th grade - may check out two books.

  • Late fines are five cent per book, per day.

  • Students must pay for the replacement cost for damaged or lost books.

  • Overdue notices will be sent through email. (Please make sure your email is current)

  • When a students fines reach $1.00 they will not be allowed to check out books until the fines are paid.

  • Book Care: please NEVER try to mend a book. Return it to the library for proper care.
