Mrs. Clayton's 4th Grade

INTRODUCTION
My name is Amanda Clayton, but everyone calls me Mandy. I have been married to my husband Jonathon for 6 years this October. You may know him as Mr. Laffy-Taffy. (He has substituted several times at Groves.) Our son, Benjamin, is 2 now!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught in Richardson for 7 years (4th grade and 3rd grade) and just completed my 3rd year in Wylie. You are my 4th class of Groves 4th Gators! I love writing so I am glad to be back in 4th grade because we will be working very hard at becoming authors. I will be teaching Language Arts - Reading, Writing, Grammar, Spelling, and Handwriting - as well as Math, Science, Health, and Social Studies.
EDUCATION
	My B.A. degree in Elementary Education comes from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri.
My Masters degree is from the University of North Texas.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all students can learn. I want to encourage curiosity, cooperation, trust, creativity, laughter, tolerance, and fun so that my students know that learning is a lifelong adventure. I want to teach my students to learn independently so that they can be confident in themselves and successful in all that they do.
