Duke is a Bearded Dragon from Australia.  He is cousin to the Texas Horned Lizard (Horney Toad).  He was given to us by Mr. McClure (6th Sci/SS at Davis Intermediate) in April '05.  Duke loves sitting on my shoulder and learning about Science.

Main Food in Diet

Crickets        Mealworms        Frozen/fresh Mixed Veggies        Fresh Greens (collard greens, lettuce, etc.)

Treats/Snack:

Raw carrots (thin cut)        fresh fruit (he loves sliced strawberries and apples)

 

                      

 

 

 

Fish

We have Two Goldfish, a Grey Molly, two Chinese algae eaters, and a Plecostomus.  They all live wonderfully together in our 45 gallon fresh water aquarium. We will be getting new additions soon.

We have enough fish food right now

Main Food in Diet:  Fish Food - Pellets and Flakes    Snacks: Algae Wafer or Freeze-dried Brine Shrimp

Other Supplies: De-Chlorinator for tap water

Gerbil

We have a male gerbil as well.  His name is Tom.  Our Grey and White one, Jerry, died recently.  They were bestest buds, and cuddle together for warmth often in our freezing room.  They were given to us by Mrs. McClure (5th Science/Math at Davis Intermediate) in May '07.

Main Food in Diet:  Gerbil Mix Food (seeds, corn, dried fruits, pellets, etc.)

Other Supplies: Gerbil Chew Toys (items sold in stores, also paper towel rolls work well.)

                  Bedding (packaged Natural Bedding - NOT wood shavings)

 

 

Turtles

We have two small red-eared sliders.  One male and one female (as far as I can tell).  The dark green turtle is named Petunia, and the light green turtle is named Franklin.  They really enjoy swimming in their pool and basking in the sun! They were given to us by a student in May of '08.

Food: Turtle pellet food        Treat: sliced/cubed fruit
