First Grade
I am very Excited about this school year!!! This is my second
year to teach at Grooves Elementary, but this is NOT my first year to teach.
I have taught for a total of 5 years, making this my 6th year to
teach. I have taught 1st Grade for 4 years, and just LOVE it, taught 2nd
Grade for a year. I graduated from Howard Payne University (Sting 'em
Jackets) in 2003.
Why am I a Teacher??? Good question! I have a HUGE PASSION for children, love to assist in their learning. I also went into teaching because I grew up watching one of the best teachers, seeing her ups and downs, her heart go into the students she taught, the tears when she saw a student not achieve and even the tears of seeing a student achieve their goal. Seeing this side of being a teacher made me realize that I wanted to be just like my mother when I grew up, so I became a teacher, just like her.
My family: my husband Mr. Jay and my dog that is my baby girl. Her name is Birghandi, she is a little black and white Shi Tzu, she is 5 years old. I have an older sister that is a professor and a younger brother who is in the Army. I cannot leave out my awesome parents that raised me to love everyone the way I would like to be treated!!!
