I would like to take a moment and introduce myself to you. My name is Amy Brown and I am very excited to be your child’s 1st grade teacher. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University with an emphasis on Elementary Education. This will be my third year in the teaching profession. I taught dual language 1st grade last year at Tibbals, the year before ESL second grade in Austin and student taught in Nacogdoches ESL kindergarten and 3rd grade. I am thrilled about teaching first grade and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child.
I grew up in the Austin area before going to college in Nacogdoches at Stephen F. Austin State University. When I graduated I moved back to the Austin area with my parents, then moved north with other family. This past summer I got engaged and will be getting married July 18, 2009 here in the Dallas area. I have a love for animals I have two dogs, Minnie (Border collie/mix) and Sarah (German Sheppard) and three cats Jasmine, Jiminy Cricket, and Tigger. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, family and friends, wedding planning, spending time with my animals, walking, swimming, watching movies, working in my yard, and interior design.
