My name is Mayra Contreras. I was born in the beautiful country of Guatemala. My hometown is Antigua, which is surrounded by mountains and majestic volcanoes.      

My husband and I live in Wylie now, where we are raising our two young boys. Carlos (9) and David (5) both also attend Whitt Elementary.

In Guatemala I worked as a Kindergarten teacher with groups of orphan children. I am so happy and blessed to teach at this learning center, and to do my part in educating every child who enters my classroom.

Art is a vital part of life, and I will help bring out the artist within each one of us!
