Homework

1. Your child will be bringing home a backpack Math packet on Tuesday.  Please keep it until the following Tuesday and play the games.

If your child doesn't remember how to play the math game assigned to them, email me.  I will go over the game with them again in school.

They need to play the game, correctly, as soon as possible to gain the maximum benefits.

The more the games are played the more math practice your child will be receiving.

2. Spelling lists will be coming home on Monday.

Let your child pick an activity out of the list on the spelling journals for each day of the week.

Make sure they do their spelling homework in their spelling journal.

3. Please make sure your child is reading for at least 30 minutes every night.

Your child will be bringing home their reading journal.  Let your child pick an activity out of the list on the reading journals for each day of the week.

Make sure they do this activity in their reading journal.

Be sure to sign their planner each night.  It is a communication tool.

Your signature tells me that you have seen how well your child behaved in school that day.

It also tells me that you have made sure they completed their homework including the 30 minutes of reading.

What do the colors mean?

If the color in their planner is green they had a GREAT day!

Yellow means they had to be corrected and there will be a note from me as to the reason.

Orange means they had another correction, and again, there will be a note from me as to the reason.

If a child reaches Red or Blue I will be calling.

It takes a lot for me to turn a color (even to yellow).  If they come home with a color change please talk with them.
