Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada
Tunnel Mountain Camp Ground, Lake Louise, and Moraine Lake

Our goal was to drive from Radium Hot Springs in Kootenay National Park to Lake Louise.  When we pulled into the camp ground at Lake Louise we were told that it was closed to soft sided campers because there was a grizzly bear visiting the sites each night.  So we drove down to Banff and stayed at Tunnel Mountain Camp Ground.  The first night at Tunnel Mountain was quite cold and rainy.  A very nice couple from Calgary (originally from Holland) let us borrow a heater which we later purchased from them.

After the rain the sun came out to show us these mountains.

M & S noticed that the local ground squirrels would get pine
cones to eat, so when the kids started to harvest the seeds
they gained many little friends.

Here a few more critters are seeking the freebies.

This little guy is not too proud to beg.

This unique tour bus allows the passengers to view scenery
in the daytime and snooze in the back at night.

We saw this big horn sheep at a lake north east of the city.

Here we are sitting beside Lake Louise.

Here is another shot with all of us.

Outside of the big hotel at Lake Louise, S. chats with
the alp hornist.

After a wonderful hike above Lake Louise
we arrived at Lake Agnes.

The tea house at Lake Agnes.  It's quite a treat to have tea
after a hike up a mountain.

I think this picture of Moraine Lake might be my favorite
of all of the pictures.

Here is a shot of the kids...kind of backlit...but, oh well.

Here we are climbing on about a 60 foot pile of glacial
moraine...hence the name for the lake.
