Reading Counts Program-(UPDATED 9/10)This computer managed reading program is for 1st-4th grade students. Kindergarten students participate as they become ready. Students read books that are designated RC books. After completing a book, they take a 10 question test. Some of the incentives for this year are ribbons awarded for 25 and 50 points. Certificates awarded for 100 and 200 points. Trophies will be awarded this year to the "top point getters" for each grade level and silver medals will be awarded for runner up at the end of the year. Also, I plan on having a student book store again this year where students can "spend" their points.

  Book Corner (UPDATED10/28)

Pre-K and some of the Kindergarten classes enjoyed "The Berenstain Bears Trick or Treat" this week. They learned about "judging a book by its cover" and how "appearances can be deceiving" in this book. I was really proud of how well they grasped that subject. We also covered some safety issues that came up in the book.
