Welcome to the Davis Marauder Band! You and your parents are now part of a great Wylie tradition
The SUCCESS of our students depends on a three-way partnership between teachers, parents, and students. The teachers will do everything they can to effectively explain, demonstrate, and instill good playing habits. We will provide every opportunity possible for students to experience SUCCESS on their instruments.
I feel strongly that parents need to be involved in the musical lives of their students if meaningful SUCCESS is to occur. Parents cannot practice FOR the students, but they can help students learn to organize their time, and support the efforts of their children in music. I appreciate the investment you have made in your student’s musical life!

Thursday, December 3rd 6:00-7:30pm @ Davis Intermediate School Lobby
Davis band students will be performing at the open house “Family Night” from 6:00-7:30pm. Each instrument class will perform their holiday/Christmas class song in the front lobby of the school. Performances for each class will be very short and will right on time according to the schedule below. Please make sure that your band student arrives at the school at least 15 minutes before their performance so that they will have time to set up their instrument and warm-up in the band hall.

Wednesday, December 9th 3:15-4:45pm @ Davis Intermediate Gymnasium
Required Band Rehearsal for all Band kids. One test grade given for this rehearsal. Kids will be rehearsing directly after school from 3:15-4:45pm. Kids will need a ride home after this rehearsal if they do not walk or ride their bikes home.
Thursday, December 10th 6:30-7:30pm @ Davis Intermediate Gymnasium
Davis band kids will be assembled together for their 1st band concert ever. They will be playing 2 full band pieces together and will be performing short class songs for each instrument class. Two test grades will be given for this performance. Dress code for ALL BAND KIDS for the concert is: khaki pants, belt, Davis band polo shirt tucked in.
Kids are expected to arrive at 5:45pm, doors will open for the audience @ 6:15pm, and the Concert will begin promptly at 6:30pm.
