Philosophy:
Music touches all of our lives. The human voice is the most
powerful and personal instrument that we all share. I look forward to

Fourth
Grade Honor
Choir Tryouts will take place the week of October 19th -23rd
during PACK Time. Information will be sent home with
fourth grade students soon.
Fourth Graders will be
attending a special, youth symphony concert on Tuesday, October 6th
at the Meyerson Symphony Center. The cost for each child is
$6.00, and the money and permission slip are due no later than
September 14th. Due to limited seating, only students and
their teachers will be allowed to attend. |
- The Third
graders will be presenting "This is
America" on
Tuesday, November 10th
at 6:45 PM. Students are asked to meet at 6:30 PM in the music
room. We will be creating a "living flag", so students
will be asked to either wear a solid red, white or blue shirt.
This program will honor veterans. Any
student that has a relative in the armed forces will be encouraged
to invite their loved one to the concert, where we will individually
recognize their service to our country. Wr Concert:
October 3rd, 2002 at 7:00 PM- All ditrium. This formal concert will feature choirs from
Wylie Intermediate School, Wylie Junior High and Wylie High
School.
- The Second
Graders will be presenting, "Texas,
Our Texas", on
Tuesday, January 12th
at 6:45 PM in the Whitt cafeteria. Students will meet in the
music room at 6:30 PM dressed like
cowboys/cowgirls, or
in traditional Hispanic
costumes. edGrade Show "We ": September 26th,
2002 at 7:00 PM- All fifth grade students in choir the first six
weeks will
perform in the Wylie Intermediate School cafeteria.
- The first
graders will be presenting, "Going
Buggy",on
Tuesday, March
9th at 6:45 PM in
the Whitt Cafeteria. I will be collecting a dollar from each student
for bug hats
to wear in the program.
Grade Show "Be Smart, Don't Start":
October
28th, 2002 at 7:00 PM- All fifth grade students in choir the
second six weeks will perform in the Wylie Intermediate School
cafeteria.
- The
kindergarteners will be presenting
"Stone Soup" on Tuesday, April 13th
at 6:45 in the Whitt cafeteria.
Students will be asked to wear a cooking apron
tied around their waists as their
costume for the program.
- The fourth
graders will be presenting
"We Haz Jazz"
on
Tuesday, May
11th
at 6:45
in the Whitt cafeteria. After auditions for speaking
parts, I will send a note home regarding costuming for this program.
as part Christmas Concert: December 12th, 2002 at
7:00 PM all students in choir the 3rd six weeks
will perform in the Wylie Intermediate School
cafeteria.
