Six Flags Read to Succeed
This
program will begin during the month of January.
Students will receive information and forms from their language arts teachers.
Students must complete six hours of OUTSIDE reading and have it verified by a
parent or teacher. Completed forms MUST be returned to the student's
language arts teacher by the end of Feb. 19th 2010 for the student to receive their
FREE ticket to Six Flags for summer 2010.

Bluebonnet Books
Check out the 2009-2010
Bluebonnet Books on display NOW
in the library. Students who read at least 5 of this
year's Bluebonnet Books will become members of the
Bluebonnet Club and be eligible to vote on the top book
this year. Voting takes place in January, so get ready
ASAP so that you can read ALL 20 books in time for
voting! Students can also submit
Bluebonnet Book reviews
and have them posted for everyone to read.
See Ms. Smith for more details.
Reading Counts Reading Program
Don't forget to check out a book with a GREEN sticker to earn points in your language arts class.
Library
Suggestion Box
Add the title of your
favorite book that seems to be missing from our library.
The box is located on the circulation desk in the
library.
Read a
good book lately?
Or are you looking for a good book to read? Check out the Suggested Reading
Board in our library. Students can write a short review and have it posted
for other students to read. This is a GREAT way to share what you like to read
with your friends or to get an idea of what to read next. Ask Ms. Smith for
more details.

PlayAways
A Playaway is a
small MP3 type device that allows you to listen to the audio
version of your favorite book. The library was able to
purchase
over 100
popular
titles this year, and they are now available for students to
check out. All you need to do is complete and return a
permission form signed by
your parent/guardian
to Ms. Smith as soon as possible.
Students visit the library with their Language Arts class once every two weeks. This is the same amount of time allowed for each check-out.
Students
are allowed to have
two books checked out at a time.
Fines for overdue books are $.05 per day/per book. Fines may be worked off after school or erased by bringing Kleenex, Germ-ex, or canned food items.
Students will be blocked from checking out books once fines have begun to accumulate, so please take care of fines ASAP!
Lost books MUST be paid for before a student is allowed to check out another book.
