Tim Andersen is in his second year as Director of Bands at Draper Intermediate School. Tim Andersen is in his twentieth year of teaching and his seventh in the Wylie School District. Before coming to Wylie he taught in the Garland, Richardson and Plano school districts. Mr. Andersen received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his Master of Music degree from Indiana University. While attending Indiana University he also received the coveted Performer’s Certificate. Mr. Andersen is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association and Phi Beta Mu. He is also a member of the Dallas Wind Symphony and performs frequently with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Tim is the proud father of two children, Whitney, a sophomore at Texas Tech University, and Eric, a sophomore at Garland High School.

Adam Powell

Adam Powell is in his third year as Director of Bands at Cooper. He has taught public school bands for ten years now. Prior to his appointment at Cooper he served seven years in the Plano ISD as Associate Director of Bands at Carpenter Middle School and Director of Bands at Bowman Middle School. Mr. Powell's bands have consistently earned superior ratings at Concert and Sight Reading Contest. He is a graduate of Baylor University, where he was a tuba player in the Baylor Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Drum Major of the Golden Wave Marching Band. Mr. Powell also holds a Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas.

Mr. Powell maintains professional memberships in Kappa Kappa Psi (National Honorary Band Fraternity) and the Texas Music Educators Association. He teaches beginning band classes at Draper, percussion ensemble class at Cooper, assists Mrs. Campbell with Concert Band and lead teaches Symphonic Band.

Mr. Powell is the husband of Amy (a registered pediatric nurse), and the proud father of two beautiful children- Abby (6 years old) and Seth (just under 4 years old). Mr. Powell enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, mountain biking, and is an active member of Frisco Bible Church.

June Campbell

June Campbell moved from Waco, Texas to Wylie in 2006 to teach at Cooper JHS. She has been teaching instrumental music for 33 years, 25 of those years as a public school band director. Prior to moving to Wylie, Mrs. Campbell taught in China Spring I.S.D., Waco I.S.D., Midway I.S.D., and Northeast I.S.D. Her teaching experience includes all levels of band from grades 6 to 12 as well as many years of teaching private flute lessons. Mrs. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University.

Mrs. Campbell’s bands have earned consistent superior and excellent ratings at UIL and festival competitions. While a member of Region VIII, Mrs. Campbell was the middle school band chair, hosting many region auditions and clinics/concerts, and also served as a UIL Solo/Ensemble judge and contest administrator. Mrs. Campbell was a charter member of the Waco Community Band founded in 1981. She served as Vice President, piccoloist, flute section leader, solo performer, and guest conductor for the organization.  From 2004 to 2006, she was an assistant conductor for the Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra. Currently, Mrs. Campbell is playing flute and piccolo for the Lakeshore Symphonic Winds in Garland/Rowlett.

Mrs. Campbell is a member of Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. She teaches beginning band classes at Draper, beginning band class at Cooper, assists Mr. Powell with Symphonic Band and lead teaches Concert Band.

She has been married for 28 years to Paul Campbell who is a certified chemical applicator, now working for Wylie ISD after a long career in golf course turf management. They have a 23 year old son, Colin, who is pursuing a career in music and majoring in tuba performance at Baylor University. In her spare time, she enjoys yard work, cooking, and volunteer work at Wylie United Methodist Church.
